About the event
This new trip will combine highlights of our most favorite Gorge trips. It's a great overview of the Biblical creation and historical significance of the Columbia River Gorge. Moreover, we will see evidence that just thousands of years ago the Gorge was created and completely devastated by fiery lava flows and unfathomable water flows; yet now it's a place of incredible beauty. That fact points us to the character of God and his heart (Romans 1:20);His love for restoration and beauty.
We plan to lunch at Cascade Locks Marine Park. Lots of history here! We'll see remains of the landslide which created the legendary Bridge of the Gods. Later it partially failed creating the infamous Cascades of the Columbia which presented a formidable and risky passage to Western Oregon for the Oregon Trail pioneers. We will connect what we see to the observations of Lewis and Clark in their Journals.…
