About the event

This outing, led by Steve Hayley and Keith Swenson, serves as an introduction to the abundant spring wildflowers of the east Columbia River Gorge. Our focus will be on flower identification, using Jolley's Wildflowers of the Columbia Gorge (copies of this book will be provided). We expect to identify (and photograph, if you wish) 30-35 wildflower species.  In addition, we are likely to see a variety of birds, mammals, and reptiles. The last part of our hike is an optional moderately steep climb to Tom McCall Point. (Good physical condition is required.)
