About the event
This outing led by Steve Hayley and Keith Swenson is tailored for those especially interested in an introduction to the abundant spring wildflowers of the East Columbia River Gorge. With a fairly rigorous hike up Tom McCall Point, our focus will be on flower identification, using Jolley's "Wildflowers of The Columbia Gorge" (1988), and photography, for those interested. If past experience proves true, we can expect to examine 30-35 species. Also we will encounter quite a variety of birds.
We will meet at 9:00 am at the eastbound Memaloose Rest Stop, about 10 miles east of Hood River. Each family will receive a field book, describing much of what we see from a creation perspective. We also will have extra Jolley books on hand available to borrow. For this day trip, we suggest a donation of $40 per family (or $25 for the individual). How to pay for and register for this trip will be described and available when our website is updated in January. We will notify you of this with an email Newsletter.
