About the event
This field trip will introduce participants to the remarkable geology and biology of Mount St. Helens. It will be led by Dr. Keith Swenson, Adjunct Professor of Natural Sciences at Multnomah University. Participants will visit several sites on the south side of Mount St. Helens, including the Pine Creek Boulder, Cedar Flats old-growth forest, Muddy River, Trail of Two Forests, and Ape Cave. (We are not visiting eastside sites as originally planned due to road closure.) The trip will include short hikes, up to one mile long. Homeschoolers and other children will enjoy this adventure.
