About the event
This trip is designed to explore the major creation and Flood evidences between Estacada and Cascade Locks. We will highlight Creation Encounter’s groundbreaking research on large Flood-produced terraces of quartzite cobbles near Eagle Creek, OR where we will both identify and collect these long-distance travelers and discuss their significance. Besides this, we shall (as time permits) examine petrified wood from the Eagle Creek Formation, discuss the diversity and ecology of Gorge animals and vegetation, enjoy Herman the Sturgeon and other fish at Bonneville Dam, and discuss the worldview issues implicit in the interpretive signs there, ending at Cascade Locks with the fascinating geological and historical evidence for the legendary Bridge of the Gods.
At 9:00 am, we will meet in the south end of the parking lot at Damascus Christian School located at 14251 SE Rust Way, Damascus, 97089. At the church we will have access to bathrooms and will pass out creation field books as we have a short introduction to the area of interest. While we caravan, the lead car will have a radio transmitter so we can tune into a common FM band and listen to leaders pointing out certain things as we travel. Our trip should be complete by 3:00 pm. More details will be sent upon registration.
