Death valley is one of the hottest and lowest places on earth. Average highs in February are in the 70s and lows in the 40s. Come and join DSA leaders and other friends on this great winter get-away. ICR graduate Van Wingerden will be our main geologist; John Hergenrather and Steve Hayley will help us learn about the stars at night and the stunning adaptations of the biology in this environment. Also we will study remnants of the post-Flood Ice Age when there were large pluvial lakes and several Indian populations in the region. For four days (Monday through Thursday) we will car caravan to some of the most interesting spots in the park, including Titus Canyon, Ubehebe Crater, and the Racetrack. Expect to take short daily hikes of half-mile to a full mile to see some of the most spectacular places in the Park.
